Earlier this year, I posted about my trip to Walt Disney World with my then 4 year-old.
Well, we may just have to return to Walt Disney World for my daughter’s next birthday! Or mine!
Disney just announced a new promotion for 2009 - “Free Admission on Your Birthday!” – for both Walt Disney World® Resort in Florida and Disneyland® Resort in California.
Another tip I want to share that I think it pretty cool - You can add a Park Hopper® Option to your Magic Your Way® base ticket and Disney vacation package with NWA WorldVacations. So, if you are planning on staying for several days and going back to the Disney theme park, the Park Hopper Option allows you to return to the Disney theme park as many times as you want to go back, and enjoy a ride again, or see more attractions.
Happy travels!

Although I’d been to the UK many times, it was like seeing it for the first time when I took my 9-year-old grandson on his initial visit. We were based in Oxford for a special Harry Potter program but had plenty of time for side trips.
For two weeks it was punting on the Isis, riding a steam train, banqueting in a college dining hall, and roaming the countryside. In London, he was thrilled with the top of a double-decker bus and cruising down the Thames to the Tower. There he loved the cannons, the Royal Jewels, and the ravens, but refused to have his picture taken with the Beefeaters. That was too tourist-like.

It was Winter break of my first year in college. As my friends all went home to their families, Heather & I had a better idea for vacation. We were off on a plane to Germany to visit Heather’s sister, Dana, who was studying in Germany for the academic year and had a surprise waiting for us on the other side of the world.

I had never been to Key West, Florida, so my first trip there was sure to be memorable. My boyfriend and I rode the Key West Express from Fort Myers, Florida, which was an enjoyable 4-hour boat ride to Key West and proved to be an amazing way to get to the Keys rather than driving down.

One of the most memorable trips I’ve ever taken was to Alaska. I had been to the state once before, and seen the typical tourist things (Anchorage, Kenai Fjords, Homer). However, my new wife had not been and was urging me to return with her. I said that the only way that I would agree is if we could go somewhere that the typical tourist does not go. She agreed.

Travel tip…if you live in an area where there are two close airports make sure you CHECK your ticket before you head to the airport. I ended up going to the wrong airport and then had to make my way to the other airport. I got on the gangway for my fight 5 minutes before it was to leave. Always ask airline staff for help. They are more than willing to let another gate know a “runner is coming.” Have fun traveling and be sure to look at your ticket before you leave home or at least several times before you get to the airport.

Being from the Midwest, one of my family’s favorite things to do on a beach vacation was to scope out the local fish market, first thing, to insure a steady fill of fresh seafood during the visit.
