Football Games and Family Joys

Family vacationsVikings Story Contest Submission by Rick H.

I’ve been a Viking fan for as long as I can remember … I grew up watching Tarkenton, Page, and all the other great Viking players of the past. I had never been to a Vikings game, but in 1990 I decided that it was high time that I went to a game. I didn’t care when, or who we played, I just had to get to a game. I bought tickets and went with my stepdad. We had a wonderful time, as the Vikings took care of the Bears 41 - 13. From there, the Viking game became a tradition of sorts as my stepdad and I would make the trek north from Southeast Iowa, every year, to watch our beloved Vikings.

Whisper Secrets about Secrets Resorts

October 27th, 2008 by Lauren - NWA WorldVacations

Mexico vacationsAs an employee of NWA WorldVacations, I recently had the privledge of attending the opening ceremony for the new Secrets Maroma Beach Resort in the Riviera Maya region of Mexico. What a great place for those seeking Mexico vacations! The resort was beautiful in the evening, lit by candles and torches. Though it was pouring rain outside, we still managed to enjoy the event. We were entertained by local performers and acrobats as fabulous appetizers were served on silver platters by a wait staff dressed in black tie uniforms. No detail was forgotten. There were even umbrellas available to keep guests dry during the unexpected tropical storm!

Skiing the Mountains – Beginner Tips

October 20th, 2008 by Sean - NWA WorldVacations

Ski VacationHere are some tips from some of our expert skiers. When you head out on your ski vacation to the mountains, be sure to have some safe and hassle free fun!
The most important thing to being safe on the slopes is to have solid information from those that know the difference between a black diamond run and the bunny hill!

  • Tip #1: If you are flying to a ski destination and are not flying into the actual town where the resort and mountain are located, and need to drive over a mountain pass to get to the ski resort, or back to the airport, check if the roads are open. Also, make sure you leave enough time for traveling over a pass in the winter. The roads can be snowy and icy, and traffic will be moving slowly if they are open. If you can, fly directly into the ski resort town. This can save you a lot of time and frustration getting to and from the airport.

Visit Disney - for FREE!

October 14th, 2008 by Jeannie - NWA WorldVacations

Walt Disney World Family VacationsEarlier this year, I posted about my trip to Walt Disney World with my then 4 year-old.

Well, we may just have to return to Walt Disney World for my daughter’s next birthday! Or mine!

Disney just announced a new promotion for 2009 - “Free Admission on Your Birthday!” – for both Walt Disney World® Resort in Florida and Disneyland® Resort in California.

Another tip I want to share that I think it pretty cool - You can add a Park Hopper® Option to your Magic Your Way® base ticket and Disney vacation package with NWA WorldVacations. So, if you are planning on staying for several days and going back to the Disney theme park, the Park Hopper Option allows you to return to the Disney theme park as many times as you want to go back, and enjoy a ride again, or see more attractions.

Happy travels!

Travel Story Contest Winner! A Holiday to Remember …

October 7th, 2008 by A World Vacationer

Family VacationsFrom our Travel Story Contest - We have a Winner!
A travel story by - Brenda J.

My family and I went on a holiday to remember …
To start, it was the first time my husband and our son had been on an airplane, so right from the beginning it was to be a very memorable vacation. They both thought the flight to our destination was quite a new thing. We flew for 7 hours straight. We went to the Dominican Republic, to Puerto Plata and stayed at an all-inclusive resort and it was awesome.
