Maui – The “Valley Isle” of Paradise

April 29th, 2008 by Kathy - NWA WorldVacations

Maui kiteboarding

Thanks to my sister, I was able to go on many Hawaii vacations and visit her at the same time! My sister lived on Maui, in the Hawaiian Islands. She and her husband bought a house in Pukalani in the Haleakala hills.

Looking up and behind her back yard, the lush green hills rise to where you can see cattle ranches, and farms. Rising steeply above all of that is the Haleakala volcano. This is the area in which they lived - Haleakala hills. In my sister’s back yard, I could pick a banana from a tree. When you live in Minnesota - that is just so cool!

Traveling is a family affair

family vacationsWhen it comes to family travel I know a thing or two about it.  Although I don’t have my own kids, I do travel with my family of 7 many times each year.  My family includes my parents, my brother’s family, 2 kids (8 and 11), and myself.  We have all been traveling together for years.  Even when the kids were young we would travel all over the world.  My nephew reached Silver Elite status with Northwest Airlines at the age of 3 and my niece had her first trip to Bangkok at 6 months old. We have become experts on how to plan and organize succesful family vacations!
