July 1st, 2008 by Sean - NWA WorldVacations

Hawaii Golf Vacations

As Ray Kinsella said in The Field of Dreams, “Is this heaven?”…No, it’s Hawaii!  Hawaii is one of the most beautiful places in the world and it is no wonder people island-hop when they visit so that they can see it all.  You will want to do the same on your golf vacation and hop to all of these islands so you can experience the true beauty that is Hawaiian golf.

Family Vacations - Prepare Ahead Travel Tips

June 26th, 2008 by Kate - NWA WorldVacations

Family Vacations Travel Tips
Whether you are taking a family vacation on a warm, sunny beach or traveling to Washington, D.C. for a first-hand lesson in American history, you will have more fun and relax easier if you plan ahead using these travel tips:

Book early - When you book early, you can take advantage of early booking discounts, special hotel offers - not to mention the dates you need to fit into your children’s school schedule.

Choose a family friendly destination - You may not want a destination that features discos and nightclubs if your children go to bed at 8 pm. Instead you will want plenty of entertaining daytime activities or historical/cultural learning opportunities.

Three Chances to be a Tiger

June 23rd, 2008 by Sean - NWA WorldVacations

Golf Vacations
Well, he has done it again and this time with only one good leg! I hope that you had the chance to sit down and watch one of the greatest US Open’s in history. Or maybe you had a chance to take a golf vacation to San Diego and see it in person! I know I didn’t move, except for jumping up and down on the couch screaming when Tiger made his birdie putt on 18 to tie Rocco! (My wife wasn’t home so I could jump on the couch.) I am a HUGE Tiger fan but there were times when I found myself rooting for Rocco Mediate. It is hard not to cheer for him since he is such a likeable and down-to-earth guy. I think that is why I found this tournament so fun to watch. Not only was it back and forth like two heavyweight fighters, but also as soon as one person pulled ahead I was cheering for the one who was losing. Ultimately, I would have been disappointed if Tiger didn’t win but it was a great Cinderella story with Rocco.

Vacation Time-Saving Travel Tips

June 20th, 2008 by Susan - NWA WorldVacations

Vacation Travel TipsTravel experts are predicting that people will be looking to travel more efficiently with their time and money. With a little planning, these travel tips will help you avoid the lines and crowds…year round.

Go when others don’t go - For a potentially less-crowded airplane ride, consider taking a flight that departs on Monday or Tuesday instead of Saturday or Sunday.

Shift your day - Get up early and eat at the buffet or a restaurant before the rush. You will then be able to eat earlier for lunch and dinner, too.  Or, you could shift the other direction and get up later, especially if your travel destination is more focused on evening activities. While everyone else is waiting in line for a table, you will be out exploring.

Golf Vacations - Three Las Vegas Must Plays

June 9th, 2008 by Sean - NWA WorldVacations

Las Vegas Golf Vacations

With 20 new courses since 1988 and 50 courses over all, Las Vegas is quickly becoming one of the best golf vacation destinations.  And to steal a line from Vince Vaughn, it is the perfect “Mancation”.  You wouldn’t think that Vegas is the best spot to be building golf courses with the lack of water, climate and the desert, but as Raymond Floyd said “I think a golf course is kind of like a fine wine.  The best come from the toughest pieces of ground”.  With the beauty of the mountains in the background and the vibrant green fairways contrasting with the desert sand, these courses might be the perfect cure for the casino blues…and a chance to win your money back!

World Class Golf Vacations - Los Cabos

June 2nd, 2008 by Sean - NWA WorldVacations

Golf Vacations

Mexico - synonymous with beaches, spring break and mariachi music and I am adding one more to that list - GOLF! I know what you are thinking - it’s summer, it’s Mexico and it’s HOT, why do I want to bake on a golf course? Let me tell you that Mexico has some of the most beautiful and pristine golf courses in the world! Most courses even offer twilight rates as early as 10:30am to avoid the heat - even A/C in the cart on some courses. That way you can be off the course and on the beach sipping on a margarita by the time the real heat hits. You can play courses that have been designed by the likes of Jack Nicklaus, Robert Trent Jones Jr. and Tom Weiskopf. This blog post is focusing on some of the top public courses in Los Cabos, Mexico and in the weeks to come we will discuss other great golf vacations.

Walt Disney World Travel Tips

Walt Disney World

Here are my top 10 first time Disney to-dos with a 4 year-old, along with some survival tips for a Disney World vacation. These are the things that delighted my 4 year-old on her first visit to Walt Disney World in December of 2007. We tried a lot more than what is listed here - these were the biggest hits which made Disney World a great family vacation destination.

1. Cinderella’s Royal Table
A character lunch (Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Jasmine, Mary Poppins, etc.) at Cinderella’s Castle within the Magic Kingdom. We reserved a year in advance. Quite a big deal to meet these legends in person.

California Dreamin’…of Hawaii

May 16th, 2008 by Dan

Hawaii SurfingAs great as southern California is, sometimes I’ve just got to get away. My favorite get-away is Hawaii, there’s no place better to unwind and enjoy paradise. It’s a totally easy flight, and in no time I’m laying on a beach, whale watching, trying out a surfboard, driving up a mountain or watching a gorgeous sunset. It’s such a relaxed, beautiful, healing place. Every time I’ve been there I can’t wait to go back. Like now.
