Family Vacations - Prepare Ahead Travel Tips

June 26th, 2008 by Kate - NWA WorldVacations

Family Vacations Travel Tips
Whether you are taking a family vacation on a warm, sunny beach or traveling to Washington, D.C. for a first-hand lesson in American history, you will have more fun and relax easier if you plan ahead using these travel tips:

Book early - When you book early, you can take advantage of early booking discounts, special hotel offers - not to mention the dates you need to fit into your children’s school schedule.

Choose a family friendly destination - You may not want a destination that features discos and nightclubs if your children go to bed at 8 pm. Instead you will want plenty of entertaining daytime activities or historical/cultural learning opportunities.

World Class Golf Vacations - Los Cabos

Golf Vacations

Mexico - synonymous with beaches, spring break and mariachi music and I am adding one more to that list - GOLF! I know what you are thinking - it’s summer, it’s Mexico and it’s HOT, why do I want to bake on a golf course? Let me tell you that Mexico has some of the most beautiful and pristine golf courses in the world! Most courses even offer twilight rates as early as 10:30am to avoid the heat - even A/C in the cart on some courses. That way you can be off the course and on the beach sipping on a margarita by the time the real heat hits. You can play courses that have been designed by the likes of Jack Nicklaus, Robert Trent Jones Jr. and Tom Weiskopf. This blog post is focusing on some of the top public courses in Los Cabos, Mexico and in the weeks to come we will discuss other great golf vacations.

Mexico Spring BreakHeading to Mexico?

If so, you are not alone. Mexico is the top spring break destination this year, which is no surprise due to the beautiful beaches, awesome resorts, and fun activities.

We’ve compiled a few travel tips to help you prepare for your trip:

  1. Bring $1 bills for tipping maids, bellman, and bartenders as getting change in U.S. dollars for larger bills may be difficult. The tips are included at most all-inclusive resorts but you tend to get outstanding service for the duration of your vacation when you give the wait staff and bartenders extra tips early on and throughout your stay.

Our Vacation in Manzanillo, Mexico

March 19th, 2008 by Pam K.

Manzanillo, MexicoMy husband and I, along with another couple visited Manzanillo, Mexico recently (Feb. 22-Mar 1 ‘08). We had never traveled there so it was a new experience for us. Our flights were all on time and pleasant so we enjoyed a full week at the all-inclusive Karmina Palace.

My vacation to Sayulita, Nayarit

March 3rd, 2008 by Lindsey from MSP

One of my favorite trips of all time was a week-long vacation to the Riviera Nayarit, Mexico with my best friend. One of the highlights of our trip was a day excursion to a small surfing village north of Puerto Vallarta called Sayulita. We caught a city bus near our hotel, which took us to the town of Bucerias. There’s a little market there for shopping  while you wait for another bus to Sayulita. The ride there was probably around 20 minutes, but totally worth it. The town is this sleepy little village with a few shops and restaurants (we had ribs, tacos, nachos and beer for 2 and it cost us $10 with tip).

Our Mexican Wedding

mexico weddingBen finally proposed! After seven years of dating, the time had finally come to start planning our wedding….

We’re the type of couple who are always looking for an adventure. We love to explore, be active and see the world! As a matter of fact, Ben’s proposal took place on a 40-foot high cliff, overlooking the waves of the Caribbean, off the coast of Puerto Rico. He cut his knee on the rocky terrain and I got a beautiful diamond!

Gimme a spring break!

February 8th, 2008 by Libby - NWA WorldVacations

riviera maya mexicoIt happens every year around this time. It is cold – so cold. I am extremely busy at work. I am on my third winter cold, and I simply need a change in pace. The only remedy in sight is a vacation to somewhere warm. Similar to the past few years, I have a vacation in Mexico on my mind. My husband and I like that it is not a long plane trip, we get the ocean, some relaxation, and let’s be honest — we love all-inclusive resorts. You really can’t beat sitting by the beach or pool, having a cocktail (at any time!), eating all you want (at any time!), and not even leaving the resort if you don’t want to.
