A Hawaii Honeymoon beginning on Lanai

February 23rd, 2009 by Rosi - NWA WorldVacations

Hawaii Vacations and HoneymoonsMy new husband and I opted to go to Lanai and Kauai for our honeymoon. While we wouldn’t do this for every vacation, splurging for First Class seats on the nonstop flight from the Midwest to Honolulu was worth every penny, and made the long flight go by quickly. We had a brief layover at the Honolulu airport before boarding our short 20-minute flight to Lanai. And so began our Hawaii Honeymoon!

Today, my story begins with Lanai and my top 10 travel tips for Lanai. Keep a look out for our continued Honeymoon story, where I will take you to the island of Kauai.

Packing savvy for a beach vacation

February 13th, 2009 by Emily - NWA WorldVacations

My recent packing challenge involved 4-nights at Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa in the Riviera Maya, Mexico.

Like most people planning their Mexico vacations, I initially wanted to bring my most casual clothes. However, Dreams Tulum Resort and Spa has several wonderful a la carte restaurants with a “casual elegance” dress code for evening meals. Since this is just one example of a common packing quandary, here are a few of my favorite travel tips for packing light:

Lost on Oahu, Hawaii

January 9th, 2009 by A World Vacationer

Hawaii VacationsA post from one of our subscribers – Barb G

We recently traveled to Oahu, Hawaii during the Thanksgiving holiday. My nephew is a big “Lost” fan, and he had heard that the TV show is shot entirely on the island of Oahu. So we drove out to the remote beach on Thanksgiving day.

The cast was on a break for the holiday, so we didn’t see anyone, but all the production trucks were present, and we could walk along the same beach and see some familiar sights of the show. If we had visited during production we wouldn’t have been able to get anywhere close to the locations.
