Island Hopping With Your Golf Clubs

July 1st, 2008 by Sean - NWA WorldVacations

Hawaii Golf Vacations

As Ray Kinsella said in The Field of Dreams, “Is this heaven?”…No, it’s Hawaii!  Hawaii is one of the most beautiful places in the world and it is no wonder people island-hop when they visit so that they can see it all.  You will want to do the same on your golf vacation and hop to all of these islands so you can experience the true beauty that is Hawaiian golf.

California Dreamin’…of Hawaii

May 16th, 2008 by Dan

Hawaii SurfingAs great as southern California is, sometimes I’ve just got to get away. My favorite get-away is Hawaii, there’s no place better to unwind and enjoy paradise. It’s a totally easy flight, and in no time I’m laying on a beach, whale watching, trying out a surfboard, driving up a mountain or watching a gorgeous sunset. It’s such a relaxed, beautiful, healing place. Every time I’ve been there I can’t wait to go back. Like now.

Maui - The Road to Hana

Maui road to Hana

If you are on Maui and plan to go to Hana, take the old road, but be sure to drive a vehicle with good shocks, and preferably a 4-wheel drive. My sister moved to Maui, Hawaii several years ago. I found the perfect Maui vacation packages - I visited my sister on Maui often. On one of my visits, we decided to go to Hana, to the opposite side of Maui from where she lived. We took the old road to Hana in her old truck. The ride was amazing and adventurous, as some of the road twists along the cliffs, right next to the shore. It can be a rough ride, and even rougher in an old truck with no shock absorbers, and no 4-wheel drive! There is a paved route to Hana on the other side of the island, but it will not get you there any quicker, because it is also very twisty, and the sights are not as adventurous. Either way, it is a full day there and back, unless you take a helicopter tour.

Maui – The “Valley Isle” of Paradise

Maui kiteboarding

Thanks to my sister, I was able to go on many Hawaii vacations and visit her at the same time! My sister lived on Maui, in the Hawaiian Islands. She and her husband bought a house in Pukalani in the Haleakala hills.

Looking up and behind her back yard, the lush green hills rise to where you can see cattle ranches, and farms. Rising steeply above all of that is the Haleakala volcano. This is the area in which they lived - Haleakala hills. In my sister’s back yard, I could pick a banana from a tree. When you live in Minnesota - that is just so cool!

Celebrating an adventure of a lifetime

February 1st, 2008 by Missy

hawaiiWhen you work in the travel industry, you suddenly take on a dual career of being your family’s travel agent. So, when it came time for my parent’s 25th wedding anniversary, guess who was in charge of the trip?

Believe it or not, I was honored and excited to help in the planning process. After all – my mom and dad did survive 25 years of marriage, seven homes, three dogs, a cat, me and most impressive of all – my brother! They deserved an unforgettable getaway to celebrate this milestone.
