We recently stayed at a resort on Grace Bay Beach on Provindenciales in the Turks & Caicos, where we both dove for the first time.
This was a HUGE step for my husband, Chris, as he has always had great respect and fear of seas and oceans. It was an incredible experience and Chris is now hooked on diving!
Chris also parasailed and we both snorkeled (see the photo of Chris snorkeling).
We also renewed our 10 year anniversary vows on the beach while our son and grandma looked on.

The most recent vacation I took was also the most memorable. About 6 months ago I married the love of my life and three days after the wedding we took a trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
Never being out of the country before I didn’t really know what to expect but as soon as we landed I felt so welcomed. With the smell of salt in the air and the hot sun beating on my skin I knew this would be a vacation I would never forget.

We were in Puerto Rico in January. The sights were amazing, from San Juan to the rainforest. The one day that stands out from the trip was my birthday. It was our first day in Puerto Rico and we went to Old San Juan. We got back to the hotel later than expected due to a car accident we were involved in. To my amazement, she surprised me with a birthday cake at the restaurant.

This is the continued story of our Mexico vacation. Click here to read the previous post to this Mexico vacation story.
Cozumel is a blast!
I had never been to Cozumel and had always wanted to visit this little island in Mexico, east of Cancun and the Riviera Maya coastline. So, one day we journeyed over the sea on the ferry boat to the island of Cozumel. It’s really easy to make this trip from Playa del Carmen. It is especially easy when our resort (Playacar Palace) is right next to the pier where the ferry boats dock. The ferry boats run every hour back and forth from Cozumel, except at night, so check the ferry schedules closely.

Sesame Street is where it’s at for kids. Which is why it’s a genius idea to design a family resort peopled by Elmo, the Cookie Monster, and lots of their big, furry friends, along with a bazillion ways for grown-ups and kids and of all ages to have extreme family vacation fun.

My new husband and I opted to go to Lanai and Kauai for our honeymoon. While we wouldn’t do this for every vacation, splurging for First Class seats on the nonstop flight from the Midwest to Honolulu was worth every penny, and made the long flight go by quickly. We had a brief layover at the Honolulu airport before boarding our short 20-minute flight to Lanai. And so began our Hawaii Honeymoon!
Today, my story begins with Lanai and my top 10 travel tips for Lanai. Keep a look out for our continued Honeymoon story, where I will take you to the island of Kauai.

In the not too distant past, a traveler had two choices in their vacation package – a European Plan (EP) or All-Inclusive (AI). Today, as the popularity of all-inclusive vacations grow, so do the choices for the perfect all-inclusive getaway. At an EP Resort (European Plan) food and drinks are not included in your hotel stay. As you are booking your vacation package, keep your eyes open for these acronyms (EP and AI) and book the resort that best meets your needs.
