Minnesota bound to see the Vikings

A Vikings Travel Story by Kelly E.
Seven or eight years ago my husband and I traveled to Minnesota from Arkansas to visit my family. So, after looking at the calendar to attend a Women’s Conference with my mother, grandmother, aunt and cousins, we discovered that the Minnesota Vikings were playing my husband’s beloved Buffalo Bills around the same time we were planning to visit.
It was a beautiful day in the great Twin Cities. My husband had done some research and found some Minnesota Bills Backers meeting place to share some camaraderie with some fellow Bills fans. I dressed in my MN gear and he in his Bills jersey to attend the party. There was a caravan to the stadium and our seats were all together.
Minnesota lost that game, but it was still a great game! I learned that the Vikings sing a beer swilling song after each point scored and got to hear the Nordic Horn play loud and clear in the Metrodome! The teams only meet up every 6 years, so it was great that we were able to get to my 1st Vikings game and his 1st Bills game in my home state!
Some day we hope to make it to see the Vikings play in Buffalo, but until then we will always treasure our memories of the ‘doink’ heard around the NFL as the Bills barely made a field goal by bouncing the ball off of the cross bar!
Please share your fun Vikings travel story and you will be entered to win a Las Vegas Vacation!
As our company headquarters is in Minnesota, we are offering a Vikings football travel story contest in partnership with the Minnesota Vikings football team.
